Cory Morgan

Owner & Instructor

Cory is the owner of the The Dancery and has over 20 years of progressive teaching experience. She has a master's degree from UNC-Chapel Hill and is a current head coach of the UNC-Chapel Hill Carolina Girls dance team. Over the years, Cory has been awarded numerous awards for choreography and many of her students have gone on to study dance and dance professionally. She was a member of the UNCC Golddusters and numerous other companies. Cory's passion is teaching young dancers and preparing them for their future. 

Chloe Stevenson

Select Company Director

Chloe Stevenson is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Communications. She began her dance training at the age of five in her hometown studio in New Jersey and trained there for 14 years in a variety of styles. Throughout her dance career, Chloe took classes with the New York City Ballet, participated in numerous workshops and conventions and has received numerous scholarships and awards.. While at UNC, Chloe was an active member of the university’s club dance team, ultimately serving as President during her senior year. She choreographed several pieces for the team that were performed at university athletic games and community events. She has also choreographed for several other dance companies and musical theater productions. At The Dancery she has choreographed numerous award winning routines and earned multiple awards for her choreography. She has worked extensively as a dance educator and choreographer, training dancers of all ages and skill levels. Chloe is passionate about sharing her love of dance and continues to inspire others through her creative work and leadership.

Eavan O'Keefe

Opperations Manager

Eavan O’Keefe grew up in Wake Forest, NC and danced competitively in the local area for 16 years. She received numerous scholarships and awards during her dance career. She also attended two summers of American Dance Festival held at Duke University, learning from choreographers with Alvin Ailey, Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane, and other companies local to the Raleigh triangle. In high school, she was one of the first members on the dance team when the program was created. She graduated from Appalachian State University in May 2024, receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, holding a spot on the Dean’s List for all four years of college.

Becky Cox

Ballet Instructor

Mrs. Becky began her dance training at Cary Ballet Conservatory at the age of 9. Throughout her dance training, she attended many prestigious ballet summer programs across the country, several of which on merit scholarships. Becky graduated from the ballet program of North Carolina School of the Arts in 2005. She was then hired by William Starrett’s Columbia City Ballet company. After a year of dancing with a classical ballet company, she decided she wanted to jazzup her life! She moved to Florida where she joined Florida Dance Theatre, a contemporary ballet company. Becky worked her up way to company manager and principal dancer over her 4 years with the company. In 2011, she choreographed Lasso’s and Plateaus with an original score by Drew Michael Cox, which was premiered at The Miami Dance Festival. While in Florida, she was a performer and artist with the innovative, Drip, for their Riff rock show and she also filmed Beautiful: An Original Flying Show, as the title character Beautiful. The following summer, she spent time in San Francisco at Alonzo Kings Lines Ballet. She continued her education to better serve her students by training extensively through various conditioning and flexibility courses. She is a certified mUvmethod instructor, a progressive dance flexibility conditioning system. Becky is now a certified yoga instructor, nutrition coach and personal trainer. She recently established B.FIT, where she trains clients as a personal trainer and wellness coach.

Zoe Turner

Dance Instructor

Zoe comes from Frederick, Maryland where she began her dance education at a young age. She attended Urbana Dance Studio and trained in a variety of styles. Zoe graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in May 2024 earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and Public Policy, with a minor in Data Science. Zoe is returning to Carolina this fall to earn a Master of Public Policy. During her undergraduate career, Zoe was a four-year member of the Carolina Girls Dance Team and served as Nationals Captain in her senior year. With the UNC Dance Team, she performed at all home men's football and basketball games, participated in special appearances, and competed in the Game Day and Jazz categories at UDA Nationals. Additionally, Zoe spent two years as a Universal Dance Association (UDA) Instructor. As a UDA staff member, she worked with hundreds of students and coaches to facilitate multi-day dance camps consisting of team building, instruction of technical skills and choreography, and performance evaluation in jazz, pom, hip-hop, and game day.

Allie Mobley Romeyn

Dance Instructor

Allie Mobley Romeyn grew up dancing competitively in Wake Forest and was a member of multiple dance teams while a student at UNC Chapel Hill. She was a member of performance company Elevate, dancing at events for brands such as Moschino and IBM. She's lived in NYC for the past 6 years, competing with hip hop teams and taking classes from a range of instructors. Allie has taught and choreographed at several dance studios in the Raleigh/Chapel Hill area. When not dancing, Allie enjoys teaching cardio dance fitness classes and taking pilates.

Maria Kordit

Ballroom Instructor

Maria is a seasoned Ballroom Dancesport athlete and artist, specializing in Standard, Latin, and Club styles. She began her formal dance training at the age of 9 and quickly rose through the competitive ranks. At 18, Maria shifted her focus to academics, pursuing a career in public health and technology—but her passion for dance never faded.

 

With a deep background in Dancesport, including training with some of the world’s top professionals (yes, even a few familiar faces from Dancing with the Stars), Maria continues to blend her love for movement with her commitment to community wellness. Today, she works with Department of Health programs across the U.S. and shares her expertise by teaching children and adults at The Dancery, as well as at her own adult-focused studio, MK Creative Arts Center, in downtown Wake Forest.

Dale Cusumano

Ballet Instructor

Dale Cusumano, originally from New Jersey, trained in New York City at the School of American Ballet and also under the tutelage of Nanette Glushak, Melissa Hayden, and Wilhelm Burmann. Dale’s training led her into a 15-year career dancing with Richmond Ballet, Ohio Ballet, and Ballet Oklahoma. Across this time, she danced corps, soloist, and principal roles in classics such as Swan Lake, La Bayadere, and Giselle to Balanchine ballets including Concerto Barocco, Allegro Brillante, Who Cares, and Donizetti Variations to contemporary pieces choreographed by Laura Dean, Lambros Lambrou, Heinz Poll, and more. After her retirement from stage, Dale pursued an academic goal earning a doctorate in the field of education and then working as a school psychologist. Most recently, she followed her heart and passion for dance, returning to the studio to nurture others' love for ballet.

Alana Donnell

Ballet Instructor

Alana Niehoff Donnell is a native of Aurora, Colorado. Alana was trained and tested in the Royal Academy of Dance, Cecchetti, and Vaganova ballet techniques. In 1998, at the age of 15, she was one of four Americans chosen to compete at the Prix de Lausanne in Switzerland. Upon arrival home, she was invited by Wes Chapman to join the Alabama Ballet where she performed soloist and principal roles. Following her time in Alabama, she was selected by John Meehan to join the American Ballet Theatre Studio Company in New York City.

 

Niehoff became one of the world-famous Radio City Rockettes and performed with the company for 11 years. As a Rockette, she appeared on various national television shows and was featured in Dance Spirit magazine. Additionally, Niehoff performed with Lemon Sponge Cake Contemporary Ballet in Colorado and alongside stars such as Liza Minnelli, Richard Simmons, Tim Gunn, Jane Lynch and the cast of Ugly Betty. She received acting training at T. Schreiber and at William Esper Studios, and appeared in the world premiere of Maury Yestons Hans Christian Anderson with Maine State Music Theatre.

 

As an instructor and choreographer, she has taught, and/or choreographed for City Ballet Raleigh, The Dancery, Cary Ballet Conservatory, CPYB, UNCSA, UNCSA Preparatory Dance Program, Commercial Dance Intensive, American Ballet Theatre Studio Company, American Ballet Theatre Summer Intensive, Alabama Ballet, and the Radio City Rockette Experience. Alana has received teacher training in the Vaganova method and CPYB syllabus. She is a Progressing Ballet Technique® certified teacher and a 250hr certified yoga instructor. Alana is an ABT® Certified Teacher who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 3 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum.

Ashleigh Brackett

Dance Instructor

Ashleigh Taylor Brackett is from Wake Forest, NC and has been dancing for 18 years. She grew up dancing in the Wake Forest Area and continued her education at The University of Arizona where she earned her Bachelor’s in Fine Arts. Among her extensive training, she had the opportunity to travel as an assistant for DanceMakers Inc. from 2019-2021. Here she worked closely with mentors and professionals such as Robert Roldan, Channing Cooke, and Kathryn McCormick. Ashleigh choreographed her own solos throughout high school and won many awards from Nationally Renowned Dance Competitions and Conventions. Ashleigh began teaching in 2018 and went on to choreograph more award winning solo and group pieces ranging from contemporary, jazz, and hip hop. Ashleigh's passions extend beyond just dance, as she is also a certified fitness instructor and real estate agent.

Ashleigh Brackett

Dance Instructor

Jenna Carroll has been pursuing dance for the past 20 years and has spent the last seven years teaching dancers of all ages and skill levels. Originally from New Bern, North Carolina, Jenna grew up dancing at Carolina Dance Alliance, where she developed her passion for performance, choreography, and teaching. She now co-teaches and choreographs with her twin sister, Julia Carroll, creating award-winning pieces that have been performed and recognized throughout North Carolina. Their favorite styles to teach are contemporary and jazz funk, where they enjoy combining storytelling, musicality, and creativity to help dancers develop their own unique style.

Jenna is currently a rising 2L at Campbell Law School. This past summer, she worked as a Summer Intern with Sumrell Sugg in New Bern, where she gained practical experience in the legal field and further developed her research, writing, and advocacy skills. Outside of her legal studies, Jenna continues to pursue her passion for dance through teaching, choreography, and mentorship. Her twin sister, Julia, is currently pursuing her Physician Assistant degree at Emory & Henry University.

Jenna graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2025 with a Bachelor of Arts in Media and Journalism, concentrating in Advertising and Public Relations. Jenna and Julia attended Carolina together, where they were both members of Carolina Vibe, a student-run contemporary dance group at UNC. Through Carolina Vibe, Jenna continued to grow as a performer, choreographer, and teammate while sharing her love of contemporary dance with other students.

Through her years as an instructor and choreographer, Jenna has had the opportunity to work with hundreds of dancers ranging from beginner to advanced levels. She enjoys creating a welcoming and encouraging environment where dancers can build confidence, develop their technique, and find their own creativity and passion for dance. Jenna is excited to join The Dancery and share her passion for dance with its students.
