Dance
Team

Dance Teams are gaining popularity across the nation in high schools and colleges. At The Dancery, our goal is to prepare your dancer with the skills needed to pursue their goals.

We offer group Dance Team technique classes and the opportunity to be selected for a Premier Team which will attend competitions. The unique quality of this program is that it is set up to supplement other training. Your dancer is not required to solely dance at our studio and will be allowed the opportunity to participate in the class and/or the premier team, if selected. This program will also educate dancers on different collegiate teams, their styles, audition requirements, and what to expect in auditions.

Dance Team technique classes will focus on a blend of skills often needed for dance teams including jazz, pom, hip hop, and acro. Every class will vary allowing the dancers to grow in all areas.

The Premier Team is by invite only and the only pre-requisite is that you are also enrolled in the weekly dance team training class. This select team will learn a competitive routine and will be allowed to compete at dance team specific competitions. Your dancer will also have the opportunity to create reels, resumes, and more to prepare for the collegiate dance team journey.
If your dancer is interested in pursuing collegiate dance, it is highly recommended that they come and try a class!

Private lessons in dance team prep are also available.
Jazz & Acro Technique
Jazz technique is the core of dance team. We will focus on power tricks that dance teams are seeking, including leap/jump and turn variations.

Pom
Pom is not that simple! There is a proper technique that your dancer will learn in class so that they are prepared for their dance team journey.

Hip Hop
Hip Hop is another element required to be a successful candidate for high school and collegiate dance teams. Dancers will have the opportunity to learn combos and work on their style.
